One Smooth Stone Finalist for Gala Award for Incentive Program

One Smooth Stone is a finalist for a 2013 Gala Award, sponsored by Special Events Magazine, in the category of Best Achievement in Technical Support. The event One Smooth Stone is being recognized occurred in June 2013 in Hawaii.

“Dinner for 60 in a Banyan Tree” was the vision of One Smooth Stone Executive Producer Ken Haller. The event was an incentive program for the top sales achievers of BMC Software, at the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele.

“We’ve produced several programs at this venue before, and many of the guests were repeat attendees, so we wanted to find a new way to use the property,” said Haller. “The Banyan Tree dominates a large part of the outdoor space, and there are several feet of vegetation below it. For this reason, I don’t think a lot of people had ever considered using this space before.”

“But with a little creative thinking and some vision, we were able to construct a platform over the vegetation and wind the tables through the base of the tree. The result was an incredibly intimate and memorable dinner for the very top sales people at BMC.”

The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events magazine, the premier industry publication, since 1986, when the awards honored the “top 10 events of 1985.” They recognize the finest work in special events worldwide.

For the 2013 Gala Awards, the magazine received some 315 entries in 33 categories from Canada, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Russia, Singapore, UAE and the United States of America.

Award winners will be revealed in January 2014.
