“For those of you that didn’t see the email from One Smooth Stone, we wanted to share some news that we’re really excited about. Here is the announcement…”

I am proud to share important news with you: I will be retiring from One Smooth Stone at the end of this year. Twenty years ago I launched this agency with Gary Vlk. The two-decade milestone provided a great opportunity for me to reflect, give thanks and look ahead. Mark Twain once said, “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” We did just that back in 1995 and it has been a remarkable voyage.

I am honored to announce that Mark Ledogar will be the President of One Smooth Stone, effective January 1, 2016. Mark is a proven leader and he has the full confidence of Gary, myself and the entire team at One Smooth Stone. Mark has been with One Smooth Stone for more than 15 years, steadily rising to the level of SVP and Principal. Earlier this year Mark also joined our Board of Directors. As you can see, this decision and its timing has been deliberate and well planned.

I will remain on the agency’s Board of Directors and will continue to be an advocate of the brand. And, I look forward to staying very involved in the Meetings and Events industry.

But mostly I’m grateful … to the clients, vendor partners, families and Stonies who have built this remarkable agency and culture. You are the trade winds that allow One Smooth Stone to sail far from the safe harbor of mediocrity. You propel us to a greater level of success on behalf of the brands and industry we serve.

Thank you for your ongoing, well-founded confidence in One Smooth Stone.

Kevin Olsen

President & Principal
